I want to build an app for retail. Users will go to stores, record data and take a picture of the shelf that contains a specific brand of product. I want the app to read the image and then based on the image perform specific calculations. For example if the image taken is showing different brands of milk products, I want to be able to determine the number of products of a specific brand and use this calculation to determine the market share that the specific brand has in that retail store.

Will the OCR capability be able to assist with this requirement

Hi, I beleive you would have greater success having the picture taken and sending it off to Gemini or Chat GPT for analysis using a custom prompt from AppSheet. This however will require setting up Appscript with an API and returning the response Into appsheet.
