Oauth Consent Screen Pending Developer Action, blocked

I completed the verification required, but the Google Cloud oauth page says I have to reply to the “email from Trust and Safety” to continue the verification process. However, the email never arrived! Yes, I typed my email address correctly, it’s not in spam, etc. Hell, I used to work at Google as a dev, but not in this part of the company.

Is there anyone who can unblock this? It’s pretty bizarre that this requires an email step, especially when the emails aren’t getting sent. A button to continue the process would be sufficient…. Anyway, I’m blocked and having down time as a result. Help? I see plenty of other threads with the same problem and no solution aside from “purchase a support package so you can file a ticket’.” WTF. This is just using the service normally, I shouldn’t be paying for support.

Hey,

Hope you’re keeping well.

When the OAuth consent screen shows “Pending Developer Action”, it means the Trust & Safety review team is waiting for your reply to their initial verification email. That message is generated automatically after submission and goes to the contact email listed in the OAuth app configuration, not the account owner’s login address. If it never arrived, first confirm that the “Developer contact information” field in APIs & Services > OAuth consent screen matches an inbox that can receive external mail. Then re-submit the verification request by editing any field and clicking Save and Continue, which triggers a new email from noreply@google.com. If the status doesn’t reset or no mail appears within 24 hours, open the App Verification contact form referenced in the OAuth app verification overview documentation and include your project ID and consent screen ID. That form routes directly to the Trust & Safety queue and bypasses paid support.

Thanks and regards,

Taz

Thanks Taz for all the info! I’ll try re-submitting the request as you suggested. I verified that the email listed int he OAuth app configuration was correct but that I never received the email. Fingers crossed!

Best,

Eric

Hi again @iTazB . I made a change an pressed Save and Continue, so I’ll wait 24 hours now. I didn’t see any change yet, nor did I see any email. But in the meantime, I was looking for the “OAuth app verification overview documentation” and wasn’t able to find it or the form you mentioned. I’ve read all the docs I could find but I must be missing a critical page. Can you link to those docs here? Thanks again.

Hi @iTazB just following up – still no progress here after resubmitting. Can you please send the link to the “oauth app verification documentation” and form? I really don’t see that form anywhere.

Update: I did end up getting the verification completed, a few minutes after posting this. But I still wanted to ping the thread regardless to help others who also might be looking for the form you mentioned. I’m all set for now; thanks again.

Hi Eric,
If the Trust & Safety email isn’t arriving, one workaround some developers have found is to double-check that the email domain you used is fully verified in your Google Workspace or project settings, and to resend the verification request from the OAuth consent screen

Hi @iTazB where is that documentation? I’m still not receiving the emails to my verified Developer Contact Information
