Numeric (Numbers) format not working

I have a .csv file, exported from a data provider that helps us track sales figures across our industry.

When I open the .csv file in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets - those tools recognize the Revenue figures as a Currency. A number that can be counted..

When I upload the .csv to LookerStudio using the File Upload Connection, the Revenue data is suggested to be Text.

I’ve now manually changed it to Currency as well as just Numbers, but when creating a Report, I am unable to see the data as numbers, I get “null”. Any idea what I’m doing wrong here?

Thank you!

If you open your CSV in a plain text editor like Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac) do you see any unexpected characters in the ‘revenue’ field?

Thanks Gavin.
I see “$42,710.00” for Revenue numbers.
Does that make sense?

I wonder if it is possible that the dollar sign, or comma (or the quotation marks, if they are actually in the CSV rather than just in your message) is making it look like a text field?
