To protect your organization’s data, we automatically sign out AppSheet users after 90 days. We’ve heard, however, that some organizations need different login durations for different use cases. For instance, if your users deal with highly sensitive data, a shorter session length might be needed.
That’s why as of today, we’re giving AppSheet root admins the ability to control their AppSheet team’s session length. This new feature allows team root admins to specify how long users can access AppSheet’s services before they need to reauthorize the service. Once you set a session length and refresh users’ credentials, all users – be they editors or users on web or mobile – will be asked to reauthorize AppSheet once their session expires.
The minimum session length is one hour, all the way up to a maximum of 90 days. While it’s available to all users, please note that it’s most effectively used in conjunction with Workspace Google services session length to not only require the user to authorize AppSheet, but additionally to enforce a re-authentication to a user’s overall Workspace account.
How to set your team’s AppSheet session length
- Sign in as a team Root Admin
- From the Home page, go to My Team > Settings
- You can now change the User session duration to a value that is suitable for the team that is going to use the apps.
