Hello, In our orgranization
users are facing an issue in Google Drive. When renaming a file, Google Drive allows another file to keep the same name. However, we need the system to notify users when a duplicate file name already exists. This duplicate name warning is available in OneDrive but not in Google Drive.
Hello @Iqbal_Hossain ,
Your issue is not related with Google Cloud itself. It’s related with Google Workspace : Google Workspace Developers - Google Developer forums . I’ve flagged this post to be moved to proper location.
cheers.

It is a tricky problem. In Google Drive, files are identified by a unique ID rather than their name and path, which is why Drive technically allows multiple files with the same name to exist in the same folder.
Perhaps submit feedback directly to Google. This is the primary way the product team prioritises new features.
-
Open Google Drive.
-
Click the Help (?) icon in the top right.
-
Select Send feedback to Google.
-
Suggest “Add a duplicate name warning during file renaming, similar to the upload warning.”
