Totally feel you on this — getting started with AI tools and server setups can be overwhelming.
If you’re stuck in that endless loop of npm install and npm cache clean --force, it usually points to a version mismatch or a corrupted install somewhere in the dependencies. Since you’re working with Node.js and trying to install Gemini (I’m assuming you’re referring to the Google Gemini API wrapper or SDK), it might help to:

  1. Start fresh: Delete node_modules and package-lock.json, then run npm install again.
  2. Double-check compatibility: Make sure the Gemini package version supports your current Node.js version.
  3. Use a clean test project: Try initializing a new folder with just npm init and install Gemini there to isolate the problem.
  4. Avoid unnecessary downgrades: Sometimes downgrading Node or Python causes more harm than good—only do it if the Gemini docs explicitly say so.

It’s a learning curve for sure, but once you break through these setup hurdles, things get much smoother. Keep pushing forward—you’re on the right track!
