Hi everyone,
I’m building a restaurant management app in AppSheet and I could really use some help with the workflow design.
Here’s how I want it to work:
- The main screen is a dashboard view (with Interactive Mode enabled) showing Tables , Orders , and the Order Detail .
- When I tap on a table, it automatically creates a new Order linked to that table.
- Then, when I select the order, the Order Detail panel appears (on the side or in a related view).
- My goal is to be able to add menu items (from the “Carta” table) directly into the selected Order Detail — essentially adding dishes to the current order for that table.
Right now, I’m struggling to make the connection between the selected order and the action of adding items from the menu. I’ve tried using actions and referenced rows , but I keep running into issues (like actions not being found or not applying to the correct row).
I’m new to AppSheet, but I’m eager to learn and can provide screenshots or details about my table structure (CARTA, ODS, DETALLE ODS, etc.) if needed.
Could someone guide me on how to properly set up:
- The action flow from the menu to the order detail?
- The correct use of Referenced Rows and Related Tables ?
- Best practices for building this kind of interactive dashboard?
Any help or examples would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
