Whether you are a developer, DevOps engineer, or an operator, you need data about your applications and services for monitoring and troubleshooting. Google Cloud’s operations suite offers fully managed logging, monitoring and trace services that automatically collect platform data and make it available to you in the Google Cloud Console. We try to make workload metrics easy for you too, so Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) has a managed metrics collection pipeline and Google Compute Engine (GCE) virtual machines collect both workload metrics and logs with the Ops Agent.
For best practices and deeper dives into the collection and use of your platform and workload data, we’ve put together the following breakout sessions at Next 2021, available to watch on Tuesday, October 12:
- Observability best practices for reliably running apps on VMs: get an in-depth look at the Ops Agent: a unified, metrics and high-throughput logging agent for virtual machines running on Google Cloud. We’ll walk through the specifics of the agent, as well as present a demo of how to install the it at scale with Ansible.
- Integrated observability tools for better developement: see how the GKE dashboard brings logs and metrics together from across your Kubernetes deployments to give you a comprehensive view of what is happening in your environment.

] Speed up development with better insights and deeper diagnostics: learn how we’re bringing your logs and the analytical power of BigQuery closer together to enable you to dive deep into your operational data.
Lastly, if you’re currently using Prometheus for Kubernetes metrics, you’re probably familiar with the challenges of running it at enterprise scale. If so, you will definitely be interested in this session, which is also a
