Tip 1: Customize your profile & add your full name
A great community is built on people. Take two minutes to introduce yourself by clicking your profile icon and going to your preferences. You can add a photo, a short bio, and your full name.
Using your name fosters genuine connections and it’s a lot easier to @ mention someone you know’s real name instead of trying to remember a username like: robot949339034.

Tip 2: Find & subscribe to categories
We’ve created dedicated communities and spaces for you to go deep on building, learning, and troubleshooting Google Cloud’s technologies.
If you are a new user, you may see a button to join a community. You’ll want to join if you plan on engaging in that community.
Then, once you find a category you’re interested in, click the icon to subscribe and receive notifications about new posts, ensuring you never miss an important conversation.
Tip 3: Ask your first question
The community is here to help. When you’re ready to ask a question, click “New Topic” and follow these best practices for getting a fast, useful answer:
- Use a clear, descriptive title. “Error with Firestore rules” is better than “Help pls.”
- Add relevant tags. Tags like gke, firestore, or gemini-api help route your question to the right experts.
- Use either Markdown or the toolbar in the editor to format your post. (For example in Markdown, wrap your code in three backticks (```) to make it readable).
Tip 4: Engage & give back
A great community is a two-way street. You can improve the experience for everyone:
- Mark a helpful reply as the “Solution” (
) to show your problem is solved.
- Like posts (
) to show appreciation for helpful members.
- Bookmark topics (
) you want to easily find later.
This helps future developers find answers faster and recognizes the members who helped you.
