MERCHANT CENTER CATALOG

Hi! I am importing my feed from MC that has 4959 products, the process seem pretty easy. But somehow the quantity of imported product to google cloud retail catalog is 9900.

Am i doing something wrong? i don’t know what the issue might be. Thanks in advance!

If you’re experiencing a discrepancy in the quantity of imported products from your feed to Google Cloud Retail catalog, there could be a few potential reasons for this issue. Here are some possibilities to consider:

  1. Duplicate entries: It’s possible that some products in your feed have duplicate entries, resulting in a higher quantity in the catalog. Check your feed and ensure that each product is listed only once.

  2. Multiple variants: If your products have different variants (e.g., different sizes or colors), each variant might be counted as a separate product in the catalog. This could lead to an inflated product count. Check if your feed includes multiple variants for certain products and consider how you want to handle them in the catalog.

  3. Splitting product fields: In some cases, product information may be split across multiple fields in your feed. For example, if a product has multiple images or descriptions, they might be split into separate fields, resulting in each field being treated as a separate product. Review your feed’s structure and ensure that each product’s information is properly organized and consolidated.

  4. Data formatting issues: Check the formatting of your feed data to ensure it aligns with the requirements of Google Cloud Retail. Incorrect formatting, such as missing or incorrect delimiters, could cause the system to interpret data incorrectly and result in an inaccurate product count.

  5. Data transformation during import: If you’re using a tool or script to import the feed, there might be an issue with the transformation or mapping of data during the import process. Double-check the import settings and mappings to ensure they are correctly configured.

To troubleshoot the issue further, you can examine the imported products in the Google Cloud Retail catalog and compare them with your original feed. This comparison will help you identify any discrepancies and potential areas for improvement.

They are exactly duplicated. 4900 products vs 9800. But another thing i noticed is that a waning emoji where last import info is displayed says it hasn’t updated in several days. how do i set it to update automatically?

Hi! It’s great that you’re importing your feed from MC with 4959 products. The fact that the quantity of imported products to Google Cloud Retail catalog shows as 9900 might indicate that there’s a duplication or some products are being imported multiple times. Double-check your import settings and make sure there are no duplicate entries in your feed. That should help resolve the issue.
