This is so strange. Appsheet randomly narrows the Name column, which has more characters, while keeping the Country column, with fewer characters, wide. The UI is completely unusable, especially since the most important column is hidden.
Please have some ways to fix this. At least a persistent width for the user when they expand columns, like in Google Sheets, and have it stay when they navigate through the app. AppSheet is not the one who should decide the width of table columns; it should be the user. Not even the developer or CEO, it’s the USER who decides the width of a column. In this world, ANY app you choose, whether Google Sheets, ClickUp, or any other, once you drag the width, it stays persistent. In AppSheet, this does not happen. The moment you switch views and come back, it resets. This is very basic knowledge that I shouldn’t have to post here, and Google should already know this.
This is CRAZY. It’s been a week, and no one really cares. Support says this is intended behavior. I believe the core of the AppSheet app itself is the table, maybe 99% of them use the table for all views. Still, they did this. In my above scenario, the table was too narrow. Now look at the width of the column, absolutely too wide for no reason.
My god, AppSheet. Have some sanity!!! whichever develoeper is working on this, I am a developer too. I would never do this crime to my clients. What I see pains my eyes.
Google as a whole is not user-oriented at all. It’s all about their own data collection and advertising goals. I watch YouTube (Premium, even!) daily, so I get to see the absurd updates they push to the Android app. You’d think they’d want a top-tier app like YouTube to be rock-solid and user-friendly. Nope.
I agree with that. This is something that should be fixed. Not being able to control that is a pain. Guys, give us some more control. I know there are things more important, BUT they will always be present. This issue has been around for years. On behalf of the people all over the world, listen to us please
