Lost ability to toggle gridlines on area chart

Hi, I lost the ability to toggle gridlines on my area chart. This may be the case for other charts too, but I’m just speaking to this specific issue I’m encountering. I have an old area chart, built a year ago, that had gridlines turned off in the past. Now, I can’t turn them back on again. It’s not available in the settings. I made a new area chart to mirror the original one, and I can’t turn on/off gridlines on the new one either.

I noticed an update to the Looker Studio properties editing section in recent weeks and wonder if it’s related to that. I would like to be able to toggle gridlines on/off. Thank you.

Images attached below for reference. Old area chart on top, new area chart on bottom. Can’t toggle gridlines on either one-- only background and border color.

I am also facing this issue. Looks like a bug crept in with the recent updates.

I’ve run into the same issue recently. I know you can hop into the Theme & Layout → customize panel and change the grid lines for all your charts there. I can’t seem to find one for individual charts, though.

I thought I was going crazy on Friday trying to figure out how to remove the gridlines! Glad it wasn’t just me.
