As part of release 26.4, for those of us who have enable the ‘Continuous Integration’ suite we suddenly had 10 new developers added to our instance in March 2026 (see Looker documentation). These ‘users’ are just Looker-controlled Service Accounts that are used to run the CI suites, they do not constitute humans who run real-life queries.
However, if you go to the ‘User Activity’ dashboard in the Admin menu / run a query in the ‘User Permissions Summary’ System Activity Explore, you will see that these users are being counted as permissioned accounts!
@google_staff please can you remove these auto-generated accounts by default from all reports that purport to count the number of active user accounts. It is muddying the water for Admins, who may panic that they have over-allocated licences. In some Explorers I can exclude them using the Service Account flag, but this flag does not exist in the ‘User Permissions Summary’ System Activity Explore,
