Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing a critical issue where all of my Map Charts in Looker Studio are failing to render. The chart area is completely blank (no base map, no continents, just a white background).
This is happening even though the data seems to be connected correctly. I can see the map controls (zoom, map/satellite) and, most importantly, the legend at the bottom of the chart correctly displays the data range from my metric.
Here are the key details:
-
Symptom: The base map tiles are not loading.
-
Data Source: Google Sheets.
-
Geographic Data Type: I have tried both Country ISO Codes and, more recently, a combined Latitude, Longitude field. The issue persists with both.
Most importantly, this issue is also affecting reports and data sources that were working perfectly just a few weeks ago.
I have already performed extensive troubleshooting, including:
-
Verified all data types in the data source (Geographic and Numeric are set correctly).
-
Recreated the chart from scratch.
-
Created a completely new report and a new data source connection from scratch.
-
Tested with a different, previously working Google Sheet, which now also fails.
-
Performed a hard refresh (
Ctrl+Shift+R). -
Tested in Incognito Mode.
-
Disabled all browser extensions.
-
Tested on multiple different browsers (Chrome, Firefox).
None of these steps have solved the problem. Since the issue affects multiple data sources (even old, reliable ones) and persists across new reports and different browsers, I am certain this is a platform-side bug or a regional service issue.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this a known bug the Looker Studio team is aware of?
Thank you for your help.
