Hey everyone,
Good afternoon.
Lately I’ve been running into some weird issues with one of my dashboards. I have a few views inside a report that are supposed to display DDoS attack data from our clients, but for some reason, the main view is showing inconsistent data.
The data source is a database that’s working just fine — all the data is up to date and looks as expected. However, in Looker, the data started disappearing recently, even though it’s definitely there in the DB.
What’s odd is that I have a filter at the top of the page where I can select a specific client that was attacked. When I use that filter, the dashboard updates and shows the correct info.
The main issue seems to be with the date field. According to Looker, the latest record is from May 4th, but in the database, the data is updated daily (I check it regularly). I’ve tried refreshing the fields in the report, redoing the connection — nothing changes.
There’s no filter applied to the date field, and like I said, if I filter by client, the data appears as it should.
I’ve spent way too much time trying to figure this out and I’m still stuck…
I’ve attached two screenshots to this message. The first one shows the unfiltered view, who says that in may we only have 38 attacks registered, but the second screenshot (with a applied filter, that was supposed to reduce the amount of attacks received) shows 31.394 attacks.
Anyone have any tips or ideas that could help?
Really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
