Issue with Verification – Privacy Policy URL

Hello,
I am contacting Trust and Safety team regarding an ongoing issue with my app’s verification process, where it was indicated that my homepage does not meet the requirements, specifically citing a missing link to the privacy policy. I would like to confirm that the privacy policy URL is correctly set in the OAuth consent screen and is also prominently displayed on my app’s homepage. The link is fully functional, publicly accessible, and clearly visible to all users.

However, I have not received any direct email from your team to address this matter, and the issue has been pending for over two months. Could you please provide guidance on how to proceed or confirm if there are additional steps I need to take? If necessary, I can provide the specific URL or further details about the implementation.

Thank you for your assistance, and I look forward to resolving this promptly.

Any update on this? I am having the same issue

Hi @huliak-huglo,

You may want to check if you meet the requirements for the verification process. As a reminder, your app homepage must meet the following requirements:

  • Accurately represent and identify you app or brand
  • Fully describe your apps functionality to users
  • Explain with transparency the purpose for which your app requests user data
  • Hosted on a verified domain you own
  • Your homepage and privacy policy should not be hosted on a third-party platform where you can’t verify that you own your subdomain. For example: Google Sites, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
  • Include a link to your privacy policy (Note: this link should match the link you added on your consent screen configuration)
  • Visible to users without requiring them to log-in to your app

You may also check FAQ and Reference guides for App Verification. Also you may want to check this forum thread that may answer your question.

It is also recommended that you reach out directly to Google Cloud Support.
