I’m trying to sign up for a Vertex AI Express Mode, but it redirects me to the GCP 300$ trial page, where it requires CC. What am I doing wrong? In Docs for Vercel Express Mode, it is clearly written, that no Billing Information is required.

Vertex AI Express Mode is no longer offered as a standalone sign‑up without billing — the current onboarding flow routes through the standard Google Cloud Free Trial, which requires a billing account and credit card verification. The older documentation referring to “no billing info required” hasn’t been updated to reflect this change. If you want to use Vertex AI Vision without charges, you can still enable the free trial, which gives $300 in credits and won’t bill you unless you explicitly upgrade. You can track usage in Cloud Console > Billing > Reports to ensure you stay within the free tier.

Hi! Vertex AI Express Mode should not require billing, but if you’re being redirected to the $300 GCP trial, it may be due to account setup or region settings. Make sure you’re accessing the correct Express Mode signup link and try clearing your cache or using an incognito window. Contact Google Cloud support if the issue persists.

I’m currently using the service of the Google Cloud Vision API. On the website it says that the first 100 Request are for free every month.
But for that I need a Billing account which is not for free if I understand correctly. So basically you can’t use the Cloud Vision API completely for free.
Am I right or can you use the service without any costs
