As I understand it, when you switch to Desktop Mode, you see this problem. I have tested a simple app I have in Desktop and I am not seeing this problem in those dropdowns.
The behavior seems to suggest that when an item is selected, it is the ONLY valid item. Do you have expressions in the Valid_If property or Suggested Values property setting that constraint?
For better help, Please show us how you have the columns configured that you are interacting with in the video. Specifically, the “Valid_If” property and/or “Suggested Values” property.
here is the image.
and it is like that in all drop downs
here is another video of the same problem.
And by the way, in the old desktop mode it works fine, just when we transfer it in the new desktop mode it starts to bug like this
I have exactly the same problem and it really frustrates me a lot.
Yes it really is frustrating…
it is very irritating ![]()
It looks a bug with new desktop UX obviously. Any comments ?
Thanks for bringing it up, definitely not intended to work this way. It seems related to having characters with diacritics like ć in the options. We’re looking into it.
can it be done like in the old version where you have dot market at previous selection, it is much more helpful then this darken field that is now. Because when you want to select something in the drop menu that darken filed is moving with the cursor and you lose track what was previously selected.
Please look at the old version and how we select from drop down, it is much more useful then this crap.
Hi is there any news about this problem? ![]()
IS THERE ANY NEWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, FOR THE THIRD TIME…
No! That problem still exists and is annoying users.
We are still waiting for this bug to be fixed so we can continue to work. you are not answering at all. is there some news about this problem
If you would like more timely responses and/or ability to request the status, I recommend opening a support ticket and interact with support that way. You will have extra support staff that can get you answers and respond to your requests.
Google staff will only occasionally respond to posts as a courtesy. Once they have ratified an issue, staff is at the mercy of the development team as to when it will be addressed. It could be within a week, if an easy fix, or it could be weeks/months if the change required impacts other functionality or priorities dictate it.
I would also suggest finding an alternative solution in the meantime. For example, your implementation was with an Enum column. Perhaps a Ref column will behave as expected. You could list the dropdown choices in another small utility table and use that as the source for your columns’ dropdown list. It’s the same behavior from a users perspective.
I hope this helps!
