From apps that can handle millions of users to exploring AI that makes learning fun, the Skills Boost Arcade – October 2025 is full of challenges that actually let you put your skills to work.

With the festive season just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to try new challenges, celebrate how far you’ve come, and level up your cloud and AI skills.

Skills Boost Arcade October 2025

Are you ready to jump in?

Level 1: Scalable Systems
Ever wonder how YouTube serves millions of videos every minute? Or how apps stay fast when millions of people use them at once? In this challenge, you’ll:

  • Store and serve media with Cloud Storage

  • Deploy apps on Kubernetes Engine

  • Connect networks with VPC peering

  • Explore Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, IAM, and load balancing

  • Dive into Dataproc and Video Intelligence for smarter data insights

These labs show you how real-world apps scale, stay secure, and keep running no matter the traffic.

Level 2: Cloud Operations and Application Management
Want your apps to run smoothly and securely? This challenge helps you:

  • Set up Cloud Storage buckets for hosting websites

  • Deploy containers with Kubernetes Engine

  • Manage access and security with Vault

  • Explore Cloud Spanner for highly available databases

  • Troubleshoot data in Looker and improve LookML projects

  • Monitor logs, create alerts, and use Cloud Functions across Go, Node.js, .NET, and PHP

You’ll walk away knowing how to keep apps running reliably and securely.

Level 3: Generative AI
AI isn’t just for tech experts—it’s already part of daily life for 1 in 3 people worldwide. In this challenge, you’ll:

  • Chat with bots about movies, music, and languages

  • Practice French, Spanish, Hindi, Mandarin, and Portuguese

  • Explore AI study partners for cloud roles like architect, engineer, and digital leader

Seeing the way you’ve structured the October Skills Boost Arcade confirms what I’ve always thought about Google Cloud’s strategic direction. The move to focus Level 1 on Scalable Systems with Kubernetes, VPC peering, and Dataproc is brilliant—that’s where the real-world operational challenges are, especially for anyone dealing with high-throughput media or transactional systems. That focus on how to maintain fast, secure, and massive scale, like the YouTube example, shows a deep understanding of what engineers actually struggle with daily.

And I’m particularly excited about Level 3 diving into Generative AI.
