Image Upload is not saving to data source on mobile app only

Hello,
The App has been working fine since 2021. However, for the last few days image upload causes the app to keep loading (the sync keeps running indefinitely)

Some other info:
1- Cache has already cleared for both the App on the mobile devices and Google drive where the data is stored

2- No issue occurs when the images are uploaded/data is saved through the browser (running app on PC)

3- Schema has been regenerated/image quality has been degraded to lowest/App has been tested on multiple devices/App has been reinstalled several times

Any fix for the above issue?

I suggest you contact Support.

Hi there,
Is this happening on Android, iOS or both? What version of the AppSheet app is installed on you device(s)?
Would you mind sharing with me, either here or via DM, the app’s name so I could take a look?

Hi,
I haven’t tested on iOS, will do and get back to you.

Version is 17.3.

Thanks

This new forum has no DM feature. Also, your profile is hidden (they all are by default), so even if DM was available generally, it wouldn’t be for you, I’d imagine.

It will be great if the DM feature is enabled. At times it is useful for connecting with community members on one to one basis for any more technical help or specific query one may have and such similar requirements.

I recollect previously Discourse based AppSheet community had DM feature available.

@Michelle , may we request you to enable the DM feature again.

Good day,
Data shared with Appsheet support. It has some more data regarding the devices used as well as some preliminary steps taken to resolve the issue (which did not work)

Shared to assist in debugging.

Kind regards

@Suvrutt_Gurjar,

Please see @Andrew_B explanation of the DM feature here.

Thank you very much @Michelle .

I read the response by @Andrew_B

We understand the intent of avoiding spamming is absolutely correct.

However, I believe with so deep technical capabilities of the Discourse platform and Google developers, the community platform can easily avoid spamming like operation.

For example, the platform can implement conditions such as, a user cannot send more than 4 messages in an hour to the another (same user) and to more than 2 different users in a day and 5 different users in a month. Also a single user can send say maximum 40 DM messages in a month.

Another alternative and effective logical condition can be, only those with established credentials in the community ( say who have attained say more than 10 community badges with good positive contributions (solutions, tips, useful feature ideas) and have spent say minimum 6 months or one year in the community) can have DM feature enabled.

Such measures can ensure that the DM facility is properly used.

These are solid suggestions.
We haven’t yet scratched the surface on implementing recognition/reputation (and leaderboards) features in Discourse yet, but we’re starting to compile a list and this is useful feedback. Appreciate it!

Thank you @Andrew_B .

Nice to know you liked the suggestions and you will consider those in the community platform implementation roadmap.

Hi @Andrew_B ,

May we know if there is any update you may have about this DM feature request?
