You can connect with local developers through the Google Developer Groups (GDG) network. Search for or join the GDG Durban chapter, as they often host DevFest and other community events in the region. If there isn’t an active group in Phoenix, you can apply to start a new GDG chapter via the GDG site, which will give you access to resources, event support, and visibility to nearby developers. This is the official channel Google uses to coordinate local developer meetups and collaborations.

Hi Taz.. Thank you for the response.. I really appreciate it.. The closest DevFest guys I found are in Johannesburg and Pretoria cities in Gauteng South Africa. I have reached out to the Google Dev Team. Applications are closed and has been that way for a while. I have spoken to Anastacia from Google. She, and her team has sent me an Invite to manage a “Broad Development Group” Not as restrictive but more open to other Professionals and brands. It is still new to Google, so this will be the first for Sub Saharan Africa. So they are planning and cooking up something nice for us hopefully.. Looking forward to it.
