I am seeing this trend of Appsheet miscalculation of App Usage in my billing. When I look at my App Users they are not more than 115 but I am being charged for 155 Users. I have also raised this problem on their Support Chat but they are not responding properly just saying plz wait. And now I am being charged forcefully otherwise they will stop my deployed App. This is such bad experience, or can say a curse of being in the subscription vicious cycle.
If anyone can connect me with their Helpline where my request can be heard, I will be very grateful. THANKS.
Thanks for the reply, i have checked my App Usage, and calculates them as well this time. What i am saying is “i am being charged for more number of App User than the actual users on my App”.
If your app usage exceeds the number of paid licenses, AppSheet will warn you. If the usage level continues without increase in number of paid licenses, AppSheet will, at some point, block the app.
I am gathering that you have already received that warning and that you disagree with the number of users who have accessed your app over the billing period. You say that “i have checked my App Usage, and calculates them as well this time”. How do you know precisely how many users that have actually accessed your app?
There are a couple variables that can inflate usage numbers beyond what you can detect. Some variances are attributed to how your app is configured.
As noted above, “Guest” users might access from various different devices to count multiple times.
Users might access the app but not really do anything - meaning there is not activity that you can see to count them as an active user.
If you are concerned about extra consumed licenses, you could tighten login security to help reduce Guest user instances. As for users who access but do nothing, there is not much you can do to detect this login use case.
I think we are not focusing on the issue right now. And, thanks for your time in trying to find the solution. I will try to answer above question before I try to put my issue in more details.
How do you know precisely how many users that have actually accessed your app?
My app is pay per User, I allow my users to log in by giving them access to their personal Gmail ID Only. So, nobody can access the App without having access from the backend.
I have Sales CRM, I don’t have Guest Users on my App, other than me who always login through WebBrowser. And I don’t receive any warning, because in my monthly plan, I had subscribed more users than my Actual Users. In App info also, we can see how many IDs have logged in as USERS.
My Issue is in Hypothetical situation If I have subscribed for let’s say 100 Users, and my actual App Users are 50, will AppSheet be charging me for 100 instead of 50.
Your post was NOT hypothetical - you stated you ARE being “wrongfully charged”. If this was truly intended to be just a question about how charges are incurred then you should change your title - it is misleading to other App Creators.
Yes. You pay for the specified number of licenses YOU set - regardless if they are used or not. If you set 50 licenses - you pay for 50 licenses even if there were only 30 users who accessed your app. If there were 100 users who access your app, you still only pay for 50 licenses - however, you will get a warning message and are expected to increase license numbers. Not doing so risks the app being blocked.
NOTE: You are paying in advance. You are buying 50 licenses for a potential 50 users to have the right to access your app.
