The search functionality in the Google Developer Program forums enables you to find answers to your questions and find issues that do not have a solution, yet. Being familiar with the functionality will make your searches more efficient and yield more relevant results.
Before you start a discussion, use the search! Checking if someone has already answered your question can save you the time for creating a new post and waiting for a reply.
Tips using Search
You can use the search box in multiple ways to obtain the results you expect.
Single Word Searches
Using a single word in the search field will return results that have that word in the subject, body, or tag areas of a post.
Multiple Word Searches
Using multiple words in the search field will return results using the AND logic, all terms must appear. If you want to for an exact term you can enclose your search term in double quotes (ie: “gemini code”)
AI Search Results
AI Search is enabled and you can view the results found by using AI in the search results page by clicking on the view toggle next to the AI icon under the Advanced filters expander.
Basic Search
You can find the search box in multiple places, including to the left of your avatar and on the Google Cloud and Google Workspace subcommunity homepages.
Enter your search term in the text box located in the header. You can search your term in the whole community or within a specific area of the community.
Select where you would like to do your search. Auto-suggest helps accelerate your search by displaying results, after you select the area of your search. Browse the search results to find a potential match. When you see the post, simply click on the blue hyperlink.
If the post you are looking for is not suggested, click on the More… hyperlink or click on the
icon located in the search bar. This will show the Advanced search where you can view more posts.
The Advanced Search option can help you narrow down your results further.
