How many AppSheet Starter licenses do I need for a shared QR scanner setup?

Hello,

I have built two AppSheet apps for our company:

  • Feramed Scanner – used on 2 shared tablets located at the entrances of our building.
  • Feramed Beheer – used by 4 managers to see who is currently in the building and to manage employees.

The scanner tablets are permanently signed in with the same company account.

We have approximately 60 employees, each with a personal QR code. These employees do not install AppSheet, do not have an AppSheet account, and do not sign in. They only scan their QR code on one of the shared tablets when entering or leaving the building.

When running the Deployment Check, I received the following message:

“User signin not allowed with the FREE plan.”

I understand that the free plan is only intended for prototypes and that a paid subscription is required for production.

My questions are:

  1. Which AppSheet plan is recommended for this scenario?
  2. Would AppSheet Starter be sufficient?
  3. How many licenses are required?
    • Only the 2 shared tablets + 4 managers (6 licenses)?
    • Or do the 60 employees also require licenses, even though they never sign in or use the AppSheet app themselves?

I would really appreciate some clarification before purchasing the required licenses.

This pretty much depends on the features you have enabled. I will send you a PM shortly so that I can validate on the same but it sounds like AppSheet Starter should suffice.

Only the 2 shared tablets + 4 managers (6 licenses)

This is correct! If all they are doing is scanning a QR code, they do not need access to the app.
