Highlighting a text and copying is no longer possible, it does copy the text but not highlighted at all, so no way of knowing what is being copied. either copy the complete row, but earlier it was pretty intuitive to double click on a value and select the text upto whichever length (both in data and visualization)

This is a recent UI change in Looker—direct text highlighting in table cells isn’t supported anymore. The current workaround is to use the “Copy value” option from the cell’s context menu or export the data. If fine-grained copy/paste is critical for your workflow, I’d suggest filing feedback through the Looker support channel—Google does monitor those requests and sometimes reintroduces features when enough users flag them.
