Google MFA

Hi
I’m the System Administrator for Glovoapp HQ.

I have an entire market in Africa mainly Nigeria, whom recently change their Phone numbers from 8 digit to 10 digit. When trying to enroll the users for their 2FA activation process, Google don’t accept 10 digit phone number, so the users can’t enroll.

When trying to enroll them using Google prompt it doesn’t have the option to choose an email to receive the prompt, the prompt is only to their device.

When i go to choose another option and follow another option to see if i can manually give them their 2fa code so they can enroll, it does not give that option as well.

Please kindly let me know if there is a quick solution for this issue cause i cant have the users using their personal email as a method for recuperating my organizations accounts if they loss access to it.

Thank you.

Hi

You can use backup code for this kind of needs.

Becarefull in order to have the option to use backup code in the others options of 2 Steps splash screen you need first to generate the backup codes. Process is :

Goe to admin console > User profile

Generate backup code and send one to user

User try to connect with email/Password

User select Others Option > Backup Code

Then he can save computer to be trusted.

Open a ticket to support is the best solution to explain the case from moving to 8 > 10 digit.

During this time the user can use the Google Authenticator app. Good solution to always have 2 steps code when needed.
