Observing the immense focus on AI, particularly Gemini, at Google I/O 2025, I found myself with a critical question regarding AppSheet’s future. While the overarching narrative was about democratizing AI and embedding it across Google’s ecosystem, there seemed to be a notable lack of prominent announcements directly detailing advanced AI features within AppSheet for the broader user base.
We saw incredible demos of Gemini’s capabilities, including code generation, advanced conversational AI, and new media creation tools. Yet, specific, impactful, and easily accessible AI innovations for AppSheet users (beyond existing intelligent automation features or mentions of credit management for Gemini integration) felt largely absent from the main stage.
This leads me to wonder:
- Is AppSheet’s AI integration strategy taking a back seat compared to other Google products, or is the focus solely on deeper, perhaps less visible, enterprise-level AI capabilities that don’t get the I/O spotlight?
- Does this perceived lack of public AI announcements for AppSheet at I/O indicate a prioritization of Enterprise plans (where direct Gemini API access might be more relevant) over broader no-code AI accessibility for all AppSheet users?
- How do you, as a community, feel about the pace of AI integration in AppSheet compared to the rapid advancements shown elsewhere at Google I/O? What AI features do you believe are critical for AppSheet’s evolution that weren’t highlighted?
