hi community,
when you create a folder (gdrive) and files (worksheet, and son on), the “meta data” records of these fils like date is was created and updated can serve as proof of authorship? i am just curious of any workspace super admins here had to deal with this kind of question? kindly share because Gemini seems to run through everything you save; i am a bit concerned bcos i have applied to join the google partner network to assist my clients and data privacy is a big deal for me.

Metadata like file creation and modification dates in Google Drive can help indicate authorship, but they’re not legally strong proof on their own. They show when and by whom a file was created or changed, which can support your claim if questioned.
For stronger verification, you should also:
-
Keep version history enabled; it shows the full edit trail.
-
Use Google Vault or regular exports to preserve timestamp integrity.
-
Back up critical files outside Google Drive with matching timestamps.
Regarding Gemini or Workspace data handling: Google’s models don’t train on your personal or organizational content unless you explicitly opt in. Workspace data, including Drive files, remains private under Google’s enterprise privacy terms. If you’re applying to the Partner Network, those policies align with strict confidentiality and data protection standards.

thanks for your reply and why can’t we use it as legal proof and what’s “regular exports” you mean to save copies locally on my external drive? i appreciate your responds.
