We have created the events in GA4 and marked them as Key Events. However, the event data is not syncing with Data Studio. Could you please help us understand the possible cause of this issue?

Hi, I’d check this from the GA4 side first before assuming there’s a problem with Looker Studio.
The first thing I’d want to know is whether the event is actually being received in GA4. You can check this in Realtime, and DebugView can be useful if you’re testing the event yourself. If the event is showing there, then the tracking itself is probably working.
If you recently marked the event as a Key Event, I’d also give it some time before troubleshooting too deeply. Google notes that changes to Key Event configuration can take up to 24 hours to appear in standard reports, even though Realtime can show activity much sooner.
After that, I’d check the Looker Studio connection. Make sure the report is connected to the same GA4 property where you created and marked the event. It sounds obvious, but it’s an easy thing to overlook, especially if there are multiple properties or data sources involved.
One test I find useful in this situation is to make a very simple table in Looker Studio with Event name and Event count, and temporarily remove filters. If you can see the event and its count there but the Key Event metric is missing, then I’d look at the report configuration rather than the tracking setup.
I’d basically go in this order: confirm the event in GA4 → confirm it is marked as a Key Event → allow some processing time → verify the Looker Studio property/data source → test the raw event count without filters.
If the event is visible in GA4 Realtime but still completely missing from Looker Studio after the data has had time to process, that would be the point where I’d start looking more closely at the data source or report configuration.
If you can tell us whether the event is visible in GA4 Realtime and whether you can see its Event count in Looker Studio, that should help narrow down where the issue is.
