I’m encountering a rendering issue with table views where the first column is frozen. When scrolling vertically, the first column intermittently disappears on certain rows. The issue occurs on my Samsung S23, and I’ve reproduced the same behavior on a Galaxy S20 and a Zebra TC26.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue or identified what might be causing this rendering glitch?
When activating “Preview new features,” if the first column of the view is marked as “Label,” it becomes possible to freeze it when scrolling horizontally.
This is the behavior I prefer for certain views, but at the same time, it’s also when I experience display issues while scrolling vertically.
Ah. Preview features are not intended for use in “production” apps as they are more likely to contain bugs and are not well supported. Normally, I would encourage you to post your complaint to the post that announced the feature:
I see, though, that the post is owned by “anonymous”, which suggests the original poster no longer works as an AppSheet developer, so isn’t monitoring the post and won’t respond. You could try contacting Support to report the problem, but based on my experience with Support, that’d be a frustrating waste of time. Instead, let me call out to some AppSheet team members in the community who may be willing to offer guidance: @Adam-google, @Aleksi, @Jose_Arteaga, @amyplin
Yes, thank you for bringing some AppSheet team members into the discussion. However, this “new” feature has been around for about four ? years now, so it’s not exactly new anymore.
I don’t think I’ve seen anything like the behavior you’re describing, if you can record a video of it I’d be interested to see it. Enabling new mobile framework sounds like a good solution, though.
