Can the functionality be added to provide a warning to end users when sending mail to groups. Similar to the external recipient warning, or a popup stating “You are about to send an email to a group, are you sure you want to continue…”

Gmail doesn’t currently provide a native warning when sending to a Google Group address. The closest built‑in option is the “external recipient” warning, but that only triggers based on domain rules, not group membership. For this type of feature, you’d need to submit it through the Google Workspace Admin Console > Support > Contact Support or via the Workspace Feature Ideas page so the product team can review. In the meantime, admins can configure DLP rules in Admin Console > Rules to trigger custom warnings or block messages sent to specific group addresses.
