Exporting AppSheet metadata to JSON & CSV for documentation and AI workflows

Hi everyone,

While documenting a few AppSheet applications, I found that repeatedly copying table and column definitions into spreadsheets or documents became time-consuming.

I built a small browser extension that exports AppSheet metadata to JSON and CSV directly from the editor.

I’ve been using it for:

  • Creating application documentation
  • Keeping metadata backups
  • Comparing application structures
  • Providing structured metadata to AI tools such as Gemini or ChatGPT for analysis

Some current capabilities:

  • Export all tables or selected tables
  • JSON and CSV output
  • Local processing (no external server)
  • Works with existing AppSheet applications

I’d really appreciate feedback from the community on whether this workflow is useful and what features would make it more valuable.
