Hello everyone. When trying to duplicate a data source, I’m receiving the following error:
I’ve cleared the browser cache, tried a different computer, and it didn’t solve the problem. What could be happening?
Hi everyone.
I’m letting you know that the problem has been resolved. I didn’t receive any notification from Google. I tested it now and it’s working normally again.
Thank you all for your help.
I am still experiencing this issue on my end.
Premise
-
The owner of the data source is a@gmail.com.
-
Anyone with the URL can view it (copying is also allowed).
Case 1 When copying with the owner’s account, the copy is successful without any issues.
Case 2 When using a non-owner account (b@gmail.com), the following error occurs:
Hi, I have the same problem, whether it’s on the a@gmail.com account or the b@gmail.com account
Hi, have you changed anything in particular? A link or something to make it work?
Hi, did you find a solution ?
No, but someone found a workaround. See it here (I have not tested it by myself, but it should work): ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE error message when trying to copy dashboards I've created - #5 by Georges_BOURGUES . Not ideal but at least there is a way.
Hello.
I didn’t need to do anything here. It started working again automatically. I only use my own databases, not shared ones. I’m in Brazil, it might be a regional problem.
I ran the tests again and it’s working.
Some more context regarding this issue:
- It only happens for 3rd party connectors that have a template and the box to “Use template for new reports” box is checked
- The error is triggered because 3 parameters are mandatory to proceed; however, we do not know what those parameters are and when they became mandatory. We cannot find any documentation on how to populate those parameters.
Here are the 3 parameters:
-
projectNumber
-
workspaceId
-
region
Our questions:
- How do we populate these parameters?
-
When did they become required?
-
Where is the documentation regarding populating these parameters?
Hello there,
I still have the issue on my side. Some of you resolved it ? Crazy that no one at Google is able to answer to us.
To add details that might help :
- I’m based in France
- I’m working on multiple datasources (Sheets, Big Query, Community Connectors, Native Google Connectors…)
- The issue started on 11th may 2026 as far as I know
Thanks for letting us know - we are taking a look.
i’ve found the work around wanted to share with the community. on the report page go to manage added data sources and click “duplicate” in the row with the name of the source you want to copy. Al works ![]()
Hello, thank you for your reply. When do you think you’ll be able to get back to us? My situation is critical and I really need to be able to copy my data sources. Thanks
Hi there,
It has been over two weeks since this issue occurred, and it is causing a significant disruption to our business operations.
Since we currently cannot determine whether we should wait for Google’s resolution or start considering alternative solutions on our end, could you please at least provide us with an update on the current status?
Thank you for your help.
It seems the issue has been resolved!
Thank you!
