Error (bug) in Google Calendar Table - can not pass value to ROW ID column inside add new row action
Please see the screenshot below.
The table is coming from “Google Calendar” and there is ROW ID column which is key and made both editable and show is ON.
However, when I try to add new row to this table, ROW ID is not available so we are not able to pass values to ROW ID column as we want, as ROW ID is not available from the pickers list.
I think this is a perfect bug, could you have a look into it?
I ve check the stand alone action and action inside the BOT. Both actions are the same, ROW ID column is NOT available.
@Koichi_Tsuji As you can see I’ve reported this issue back in Jan 2023. Case ID: 0-0263000033386

We have checked with our specialist team and we have found that this is a very niche case of power use of AppSheet and our Product team prioritized this as extremely low. Such a situation is neither common nor is it used in every day cases. So we have continued to keep it that way. We recommend the you to not to try and customize the “Row ID” when working with Google Calendar as datasource in an “Add a row to another table” action. Hope you understands our limitations.

Hi AppSheet team,
thank you so much for taking time. OK I understand. But I’m not the only one who wants this as you can see in this community post.
Also: Why can we set the Row ID in a LINKTOFORM() action but not in a “Add a new row to another table using values from this row” action?
In both ways we should be able or not.

We completely understand your concern and are committed to resolving this issue as quickly as possible. We have forwarded the information you provided to our specialist team.
We will keep you updated as soon as we receive their response.
Thank you for sharing valuable info. My request might have been repetition.
Very much sad our request and serious voices have been ignored by Google for years and years, and no action taken…. It is likely their stance/behavior against the valuable customers continues, as they seems to listen to the internal (or large enterprise customer) only, and not pay attention to the voice from the community. No hope to their approach to the customers.
I dont know when Google teams would understand their support service for AppSheet is gaining ZERO TRUST from the customers. It is likely they won’t understand forever.
