We have some field crew that we currently use Appsheet for.
The current use is we get assigned an urgent list of trees to be pruned by local government (affecting power services etc). They send us this list, we go and prune them urgently and then report back. This is fine, we have a map view which shows all the exact GPS locations for each tree and we complete each one with a form view in Appsheet.
This updates a google sheet which we use to track and manage what’s open / closed etc.
We want to add another use into the app, which is for general maintenance. The crew will attend a location, start at “x” on a road, drive down and trim / manage all the trees on that road until they reach wherever they decide to stop for the day (“y”). What we want to do is get some data back, so we can report to the local government when we exactly did specific roads / locations.
Is it possible to have a view, ideally on the map, where the crew can drop a start and finish pin and have that update a line in a sheet with? Perhaps a form with a start position, end position and crew member to enter? Is it possible for the start position to allow them to drop a pin on a map and that then enters as coordinates or nearest address in the sheet?
We’re not interested in how many trees were pruned, or any other information, just that they started at x and finished at y on a specific date.
Hopefully that makes sense. Reasonably new to appsheet, so not really certain on what is / isn’t possible.
