Emulator v Tablet Difference

Hello Appsheet community,

I have ran into an issue I can’t seem to figure out. I have 2 slices. 1 shows all of historical WOs for reference and 1 shows WOs for today. In the slice for the today’s WO’s, there is a statement filtering for today, [Date] = Today() and filtering for the employees’ assigned WO . When a WO is entered and I am logged in as ‘Joe’ I only see the new WO in the ‘All WOs’ screen and not Today’s Screen when I am logged in as him in the tablet. The weird part is that I can see the WO in both screens on the emulator. Also, when I tested with another employee, it works on the tablet as well. Not sure what is going on…Any insight is appreciated.

If I am understanding correctly, in the Emulator you see the WO in both views. But on the tablet you only see the WO in the “All” view and are expecting to see it in the “Todays” view but it doesn’t show there.

Where was the record entered?

If entered on the Emulator then the very first question is -

Did you try Syncing on the tablet? It could have been that the update to one view made the latest Sync cut but the second did not. So you would either need to manually Sync or wait for the next Sync to happen.

Are you sure you are logged in as that user? Login’s are remembered for a period of time. When you access the app on the tablet, if you didn’t explicitly change the login, you could have just been going in as the previous user who wouldn’t see the WO record in the “Todays” view. By expanding the side Menu, the app will show you who it thinks the logged in user is.

If all checks out above, then enter a new WO from the tablet itself. If it still doesn’t show in both views then this might be an indicator of something wrong in the Slice expression.

If the WO was entered on the tablet, then it should have shown right away in both views. This again would imply there is an issue with the Slice filter and the test user.

Yes, I made sure to sync after every record has been added and verified I am logged in as the user. I have not tried adding the WO through the tablet. Good idea! Will share findings. Thank you!

Hello @WillowMobileSys , wanted to circle back with an update.

After following your suggestions and troubleshooting on the tablet, it lead me to the realization the tablet’s time was set for tomorrow instead of today’s date. Which is why the slice/UX view for ‘Today’s WOs’ would work on the emulator and not on the tablet. Once I rest the tablet’s time to today’s date, I was able to see all of today’s data. Thank you very much for reaching out and assisting me with my issue! Have a great day!
