Hello Google Cloud Team,
I recently received an email notifying me that inactive OAuth 2.0 clients associated with three Google Cloud projects would be deleted in 30 days.
On November 4, 2026, I reviewed the OAuth clients in all three projects. For the clients displaying deletion warnings, I updated their names and saved the changes.
After saving, the deletion warnings disappeared. One previously flagged iOS client’s “Last used date” also updated to November 4, 2026.
Could someone from the Google team please clarify:
-
Does renaming and saving an OAuth client count as qualifying activity that resets the six-month inactivity timer?
-
Does the disappearance of the deletion warning confirm that the client is no longer scheduled for deletion?
-
Is any additional OAuth authentication or token exchange required to prevent deletion?
I would appreciate clarification on whether these actions are sufficient to preserve the affected clients.
Thank you!
