I’d like to create a treemap in Google Looker Studio where the size and color are based on different metrics. For example, I want the size of each block to reflect the production volume of each product, and the color to represent the defect rate. Could you please let me know if this feature is currently available? If not, I’d like to suggest it as a feature request.
I’m pretty sure this isn’t possible in Looker Studio! The color corresponds to the dimension value, and I don’t think there’s a way to link it to a measure value instead.
If we were working in Looker, I’m pretty sure we could write this logic into the Chart Config Editor, but for Looker Studio this would be a feature request.

Treemap chart improvements
Improvements to Treemap charts include the following:
A new Fields section in the Setup tab that lets report editors specify a dimension or a metric to use as the basis for chart coloring
New color options that are based on the selection in the Fields section
A new Border radius setting that lets report editors control the border radius of tree branches
A new Label section in the Style tab
But I cannot see this changes in my Treemap chart right now.
The new options are available for me. Maybe your report is not using the modernized charts (to check on the theme panel)?
Thank you, yes, I enabled the modern version in the theme settings, for me as a newbie this is not an obvious option.
