You can now create announcement spaces and update space permission settings using the Chat API with App Authentication in the Developer Preview Program.
What does this mean for developers?
Chat API with App Authentication now provides expanded space management capabilities, enabling applications to:
- Create announcement spaces.
- Read and update space Permissions: Programmatically control space permissions, including granular control over features like @All mentions and member management, ensuring optimal collaboration and security.

You can enable this capability with new Chat app-specific OAuth scopes. Using these application scopes, Chat apps can create announcement spaces.
