I’m building a dashboard using coupler.ai to connect my hubspot data to looker studio, no issues there. However, I have many date fields available, and I need to choose a specific one (hs_createdate) as my default date range control. Whenever I add a date range control I cannot change or select the date field I need to use.
I’ve seen different solutions to my problem here, but I can’t make any of them work for me. Does anybody have a different option that I could try?
Classic issue with third-party connectors, they lock the date field that is used by default. One way of overcoming this, not the cleanest, is to self-blend your data (left).
On the left table, use only date and keep the date range control to default.
On the right table, use hs_createddate as dimension, join on date = hs_createddate, and for date range control: take something like Today minus 3 years, today (to be sure to cover everything).
Put all the metrics you need in the right table, and you’ll be good to go. not the cleanest, but does the job.
