I’ve been waiting for years to get the API functionality expanded for more than just the most basic permission management. Ideally, I’d like the ability to manage Data Studio assets at scale. This includes:
- dashboards: create, copy, delete, move to workspace/folder, permissions
- data sources: create, copy, change credentials, refresh/reconnect, permissions
- workspaces: create, delete, permissions
- folders: create, delete
This would be huge for actually managing Data Studio across all the projects that my team manages. In many cases, we also have “template” dashboards that we would like to copy for a specific use case and assign permissions, etc.
Is this on the roadmap? It’s 2026 and not having an API to manage basic functionality makes Data Studio impossible to choose as a serious BI tool. I don’t want to “click through a UI” to manage a repeatable process.
