I’m part of the Apigee from 2017, and started from ODPK thru new X versions. All of this time I worked both in forums, here, and for my customers to make Apigee better and faster to implement. Around 2021 I got the idea to build DIY portal based on Apigee API’s. It was small side project, that helped some of my day-to-day dasks for managing my own APIs. Then, to be more effective, I’ve added some ‘workspace’ capabilities to arrange all docs I have for my API work from customers: LLD, HLD, specs, postman collections, docs, etc.
Then, I’ve added some automation for installation from the portal and monitoring, and lastly, i’ve developed some neat SOAP to REST wrapper (that is very advanced and covers almost all SOAP structures), so, within the years, portal became a real best and boosted my productivity to other levels, as a developer and integrator, I was able to deal with development both for me and my customers very very quickly, almost without any team.
Now, this ‘portal’ holds some real eco-system, that is integrated with Apigee official APIs and can do: fully customizable developer portal with white-label, SOAP to REST wrappers with automatic deployment to Apigee, ‘asset’ library for all assets related to API lifecycle, no-code OpenAPI spec and Proxy bundle generation.
Lately I’ve added module called ‘quick start’ which allows new customer in click to deploy global logger, error handler, configure masking, configure security patterns and reusable sharedflows, as 1click package to get production ready in same day! Also portal have predefined bundles of logic like AI Proxy with monetization, blue\green or multi-model support, reports on usage, fallback on models, SSE, semantic caching, and model armor, all inside Apigee, in 1 click.
Lastly, Hybrid installation and upgrades in click, DevOps in UI UX (promotins) and a lot of stuff.
