Cross-filtering not working properly

We are experiencing an issue with cross-filtering on one of our dashboard pages in Looker Studio. The page includes a 100% stacked bar chart and a table, both of which have cross-filtering enabled and use the same data source.

Expected behavior

Until a couple of weeks ago, clicking on a segment of the 100% stacked bar chart would filter the items in the table below, showing only those that meet the condition of the segment clicked.

Current behavior

Starting a couple of weeks ago, this cross-filtering functionality stopped working.

Now, when clicking on any segment of the 100% stacked bar chart, the table on the page displays the following error message:

System Error
Looker Studio has encountered a system error.
See details

When clicking on See details, we see the following message:

Sorry, we encountered an error and were unable to complete your request.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a report, and from the same data source, add a 100% stacked bar chart and a table.
  2. Enable cross-filtering on both visualizations.
  3. Click on any segment of the 100% stacked bar chart.
  4. See an error message!

Extra information

  • Both the 100% stacked bar chart and the table use the same data source.
  • This worked properly until a couple of weeks ago, with no changes on our end.

Using the ecommerce BigQuery dataset I’ve tried to replicate the issue, but it works just fine.

You might consider Looker Studio Pro and open a ticket with support if the problem persists.

@carlos-em usually when i face such a temp issue i just reselect every field on a chart (dimensionns ans metrics) and very oftenly it just magically works again :slightly_smiling_face:
