Converting SMS automations from Appsheet to Twilio (Canada #'s)

I am trying to convert my SMS messages from Appsheet Default to _CUSTOM_Twilio for the April 21 deadline but cannot get the Twilio channel to work

  1. I have created Twilio Account and verified the number I am using and testing on.

2.I have properly input AccountSid, AuthToken into the automation Step.

Here is where my issue may lie. The Twilio number assigned to me if based in the United States, but I am trying to SMS Canadian Numbers

3.If I set my Country Codes (ISO 3166) as united states and I have my “TO” numbers as Canadian then I received an error in the LOG saying could not recognize “TO” number. If I set my Country Codes as Canada then in the LOG it also gives me an error saying could not recognize “FROM” number (This “FROM” number was the united states number assigned by Twilio)

I am wondering if I need to buy a Canadian Number from Twilio for this to work, looking for advice on this before I go ahead and purchase it. I never got any issues with my automation when using Appsheet_default channel.

I’m not sure about USA and Canada but I use a UK number from Twilio to send messages to other UK numbers and it works very well.

The (UK) Twilio numbers are very cheap so it’s not worth trying to get around it.

The Country Code should be any countries you are sending to, so Canada for you, while the To box is for the number [expression or field] to send the message to… You do have the recipient number formatted correctly? (i.e. +1 …)

I actually send messages using a webhook bot now so I can use alphanumeric codes rather than the purchased mobile number as Appsheet doesn’t support alphanumeric numbers
