I’d like to report a critical issue that started occurring around 17:25 PDT on September 6 / 09:25 JST on September 7, 2026. I’m experiencing multiple related problems that are making it impossible to make changes to my app definition reliably.
Symptoms:
Changes not persisting — Edits made to the app definition appear to save successfully, but after reloading Chrome, the changes are gone and the app reverts to its pre-edit state.
Views not updating — Saved edits are not being reflected in the actual app views in real time. This is happening on both desktop mode and mobile.
Version history appears incorrect — Checking the Versions tab, the history does not seem to be recording saves properly, which suggests the issue may be on the backend save/commit side.
Automation Monitor inaccessible — The Automation Monitor fails to open and displays the error message: “Unable to fetch app definition.” This may be related to the same underlying issue.
Troubleshooting already attempted:
Cleared Chrome cache multiple times — no improvement.
Reloaded the editor multiple times — changes consistently revert.
Tested with a different AppSheet account — the same issues occurred, ruling out an account-specific problem.
Tested on multiple operating systems (macOS and ChromeOS) — the same issues occurred on all platforms, ruling out a local environment or OS-specific problem.
Given that the issue reproduces across multiple accounts and multiple operating systems, this strongly suggests a platform-side problem rather than anything local to my environment.
This is causing significant disruption to our workflow, as we are unable to make any reliable updates to our applications. Could you please look into whether there is an ongoing incident affecting app definition saves and the Automation Monitor?
Any update or acknowledgment would be greatly appreciated.
Same here, changes appear to save successfully, but the actual app is frozen in time, hard refresh of the editor shows reverted version number and all updates wiped.
Edit: If I make a “copy” of the app, it seems to accept edits that persist across refreshes and sessions. Less-than-ideal solution, but willing to work with it if that’s the only way around this roadblock.
After checking the Versions history of the app I was editing, I noticed that “Automatic consistency check” entries are appearing repeatedly and at a high frequency. This may be related to the issues described above — it is possible that the system is continuously detecting inconsistencies in the app definition and triggering these checks, which could explain why saved edits are being reverted.
Thank you for sharing and reporting the issue within the community. Yes, we are facing the exactly same issue now.
Once apply the change in app editor, then those changes are refrected inside the app preview, but it does not in the actual app. Leaving the editor untouched and re-open the editor, then the version are reverted automatically back to the old version and the latest chnages are erased… This is obvisouly the platform issue affected to all the app users/creators.
I’ve brought this up multiple times in this community, but please consider publishing incident updates as soon as an issue occurs.
It often seems that the AppSheet team prioritizes jumping straight into fixing the bug, but what users truly need first in these situations is a simple, immediate acknowledgment from Google—even just a quick comment saying “We are aware of an ongoing issue with AppSheet.”
As far as we can tell, this bug does not affect end users. The app itself continues to work normally for users. The impact appears to be limited to App Creators — specifically, the ability to edit and save app definitions reliably.
I noticed this as well , I thought possibly I had done something wrong. Unable to create new databases or apps either, even through ext on Sheets. Just throws me into a Boot Logging Loop to authenticate.
Yes mee too…
I tried updating the AppSheet expressions several times. I thought everything was good, but it’s still showing errors and my changes didn’t save.
Yeah, Same here. A lot of changes made by “System”. Stuck in Version 1.000385 in editor and 1.000383 in user app. I even tried upgraded to 2.000000, but the “System” put me back in 385 no matter what.
I am facing the same problem and hope it can be resolved soon. Although AppSheet shows that my changes have been saved successfully, everything reverts to the previous settings when I reload the page. As a result, none of the changes are retained.
Same here, guys. I thought it might be something related to my ID, computer, or the app I was making. I spent hours trying to figure out what was going on with my app, only to realize that the issue was with AppSheet itself. I tried different devices, different IDs, and even different apps, and they all had the same issue. Please look into this and do the needful.
