Bubble Map not zooming to designated area based on filter

I’m trying to get a Bubble Map to Zoom to the appropriate US region based on a State filter. However, the data is only filtered when a filter control is applied and the zoom remains constant. This appears to be basic functionality that is supported by Looker Studio, but for whatever reason I can’t seem to get it to work.

I tried changing the field type for “State” and using different fields for the filter (including City)

I think I had this issue before when my data was not properly labeled somehitng like AZ vs Arizona.
I thhink it requires to have an exact type. Another posiible issue is maybe you have selected a default viewport for your chart?
