We are a K-12 school district. We are trying to restrict a specific OU from sharing Google Drive files externally as well as internally EXCEPT with the Staff OU. So basically, this restricted students OU should not be able to share with anyone except the Staff OU. We’ve set trust rules to block all sharing, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to block all sharing, externally and internally, but still allow sharing to the Staff OU.

We have successfully utilized the sharing settings to block outside sharing. The problem we run into is that we also need to block peer-to-peer sharing within our domain for specific OUs, as well as all external sharing. We can accomplish this with trust rules, but then that turns off the “Sharing settings” and reopens external sharing. Within the trust rules, there does not seem to be a way to block all external sharing except by specific domain or by blocking ALL sharing completely. Once this is done, students are no longer able to share/receive Drive files from their teachers to complete assignments in Google Classroom.
