Blended Data Can't be Used to Create a Calculated Metric

Is there any known Looker Studio issue right now affecting blended data sources and calculated metrics? In my report, even a fresh test blend between Google Sheets and Google Ads fails for simple calculated metrics like SUM(Cost) + SUM(RS Cost) (just a naming example), while the individual sources work fine outside the blend.

Here’s a sample setup how the blend looks like.

And when I use that blend to create a calculated metric, it always return a prompt that says “invalid formula”. Here’s an example below where I input 1.

You should share more details about the way you configured your blending with some screenshots. It is probably a problem of method (join type, keys…).

Oh sorry for that… I’ve attached how the blend looks like and what it shows when I use that blend for a calculated field. Do you think there’s a problem with my setup?

Yes, it is probably an issue with you setup.

the naming of the campaigns is the same in the 2 data sources?
Before trying to apply a formula, what’s happen when you display the dimensions campaign and the metric Cost in a table chart fed by the blending?

I would recommend to progress step by step regarding your data sets.

Hi Mehdi! Thank you so much for being helpful! But I think I figured out what the problem is. It’s weird because even though it says invalid formula, when I apply it, it pushed through and it worked… It’s probably a bug. I’ll ask again if I encounter another problem. Thanks a lot!
