Authentication screen failure in Looker Studio when creating SQL Server connection

Hi everyone,

Today I started experiencing a problem while trying to set up a connection to a SQL Server database in Looker Studio. The issue doesn’t seem to be related to the database itself, but rather to Looker Studio’s own authentication page.

The interface simply won’t allow me to edit or enter the connection details — the fields remain locked, and the screen doesn’t load correctly. Because of that, I’m unable to proceed with creating the data source.

I’ve already tried several steps to isolate the issue:

  • Cleared the browser cache;

  • Tested in incognito mode;

  • Tried different browsers;

  • Even tested on other computers.

In all cases, the problem persisted.

I will attach the screenshot of the error below.
Has anyone else encountered this same issue today? Or experienced something similar before?

Yeah, we’ve had this problems since yesterday doesn’t seem to affect already existing connection but you can’t up the table select/query either for current connection.

Very annoying issue. Hope they’ve noticed and fixing it now.

Today Dec 10th, it has this connection error again for all of us in our IT dept.
