Appsheet Dropdown values incorrect from Googlesheet

Hello,

I have an App whee certain columns have dropdown values set from data validation rules in the google sheet, the values come from a different sheet / tab in the same spreadsheet, the child sheet is not pulled into Appsheet as data source but the parent sheet / whole spreadsheet is.

Essentially those data validation rules don’t sync in Appsheet correctly, as it’s now showing values from a different column, both in the data editor and forms etc, regenerated schema but not fixed. This was working very well for 4 months prior to issue, I did add 2 new columns to parent (just URL fields) and suspect it broke things then, when adding columns though, I always regenerate schema.

I cant figure out how to get Appsheets to sync correctly with the googlesheets data validation rules. It affected multiple columns I have set like this, it keeps grabbing values from a different columns and I’m at a loss to how to fix!

It seems you are misunderstanding the concept of connecting a Google Sheets file as a data source to an Appsheet app.

This “data validation” sheet should be included in the schema of your application.

You can only use validations from your gSheet when you either bring the sheet to your app or you regenerate that table’s column structure. As @marcossglr mentioned, better to bring them as a separate table.
